Ice Cross
Tip: Enjoy it at Your Own Pace!
Even if you’ve skated a lot before, ice cross is probably new to you. You will be skiing downhill, in sharp curves and in jumps is a different experience from skiing on flat ice, and therefore we recommend that you set your own pace when skiing. Better start a little too slow and increase the speed as you go!
More About Our Ice Cross
Ice cross is an extreme sport on ice, perhaps best known for the Red Bull Crashed Ice race. Riding on sharp inclines – downhill, uphill and partly sideways – riders make their way through a twisty ice-covered course with jumps and other challenges.
Several Swedish riders have placed well at competitions around the world, including Richard Van Wijhe who participated and drew the course at the Scandinavian Ice Adventure. He rides around the world to compete in ice cross, and is today ranked as one of the world’s best riders. Richard Van Wijhe is a big reason we have built our own high-class ice cross track – albeit in a smaller format than the race tracks where he himself made his name.
We will also organise competitions and have some club-run activities on the ice cross track, to showcase and develop the sport.
On our ice cross track, just like on the hockey field, helmets are compulsory. We also strongly recommend that you use back protectors, bars, elbow pads and leg shields when riding here.
